Early Intervention through Westside Regional Center

Little Hands Big Steps is a vendor of Westside Regional Center (WRC) servicing West Los Angeles. If your child is between the ages of 0–3 and qualifies for services through WRC, we provide occupational therapy services at no out-of-pocket cost. Contact your service coordinator to get started!

Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Evaluation

A 60-minute occupational therapy evaluation includes standardized tests, parent reporting and observations to gain a detailed understanding of your child’s strengths and needs. Following the assessment, a written report is provided, outlining findings (standardized scores, scaled scores, age equivalence, and descriptive terms) and a personalized treatment plans.

Feeding Evaluation

A 60 minute feeding evaluation includes observations of a mealtime or breast/bottle feed, oral motor exercises and stimulation, and parent reporting. Following the assessment, a written report is provided outlining findings and recommendations to guide ongoing treatment plans.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Ongoing sessions are 1 hour long:

  • 45 minutes one-on-one with the child
  • 15 minutes collaborating with parents

Sessions can take place at home, school, or other preferred environments. These sessions allow for individualized interventions based on each child’s areas of growth. Goals will be monitored to ensure meaningful progress.

Feeding and Oral Motor Therapy

Our feeding sessions (45–50 minutes) are designed to support both your child and you as the caregiver. We address picky eating, sensory sensitivities, mealtime behaviors, oral motor skills, latch concerns, pacing, and transitioning to solids. It’s important that these sessions take place with a family member or other main caregiver so as to ensure optimal carryover of oral motor exercises, oral motor stretches, mealtime strategies, and environmental adaptations for the best outcome.
