Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
At this time, we are not in-network with any insurance providers, which allows us to focus on personalized therapy without insurance constraints. This means we can decide on the frequency and length of sessions based on each individual’s and family’s needs. Additionally, we can provide a Superbill upon request to submit to your insurance company.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Nope! Since Little Hands Big Steps is a private practice, we are able to initiate services as soon as the family is ready.
Do I need an evaluation to start services?
Every child should have an up to date evaluation, administered within the past year. If your child already has one from a previous provider, we can use it to guide and build their plan of care. If not, we recommend starting with an evaluation so we can fully understand your child’s strengths and challenges, and create goals that truly support their growth.
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No, your child is so much more than a diagnosis, and we welcome them just as they are. While a diagnosis can sometimes give extra insight, it’s never required. Our focus is on your child’s individual strengths, needs, and meeting meaningful goals.
What ages do you accept?
We work with children from newborn through young adults up to age 22.
Will you travel to me?
Yes! This is concierge OT meaning that we provide the services wherever the family would deem it most helpful. Most of our families choose to have sessions in their home or at school but sometimes parents find it helpful to accompany their children to the park, playdates, grocery store, etc. We service the entire Los Angeles area.
